Louisahhh!!! - Ready

Your average techno purist will likely stab me metaphorically for calling this techno, but the deep bassline, darkness and risers just about qualify it - the talking Nina-esque vocals probably take it away but it's an interesting listen.

Daniel Taylor - M.O.R.D. (Loco Dice Remix)

A quick flashback to the original mid-2000's minimal days when Loco Dice was smashing things at Circo Loco and this chuggy, minimal sound was the coolest thing around - this is an overlooked track in my opinion and deserves some more attention.

Scuba - Black On Black (Len Faki Goes Black Remix)

Growling acid-influenced remix from the master Len Faki - it doesn't sound much to start but it gets almost pensively angry - in a joyous way.

DJ Sodeyama - Miles Pt 2

Rough-edged dark techno track about something miles and miles and miles and miles away.

Nitzer Ebb - Join In The Chant

Not exactly a new track, being from 1987, but I've been having a week of listening to 80's only tracks to see what I missed out on and have become rather enchanted at this super groovy, yet angry, shouty classic.

Baeka - Right At It

One of those tunes that I've known and loved for ages, yet only just worked out what it is.  A very summery house track but full of quality.

Fathers & Sons Productions - FAS Souls

This gave me that kind of sicky coming up feeling, with its low tones of emotion - quite sad and mournful yet hopeful at the same time - and a wonderful cut back in of the beat.

Ricardo Villalobos - Ferenc

Controversial but Dependent And Happy is my favourite Villalobos album.  There is so much undiscovered beauty in it including this spaced out dreamy taxi-beeping New York trip.  Even more controversial - the track is less than 5 minutes long.

DHS - I Am Your Control

Slightly cosmic, bleepy underground house track with an old feel to it.

Ralphi Rosario - You Used To Hold Me (Kenny's Mix)

A proper old school track with elements that wouldn't be dreamt of nowadays yet I just want to get up and dance to it.

24 Hour Experience - Together

A flashback to my 90's US garage days, reminded to me by a young lady called Sophie.  This has that slight two-step thing going, exuding warmth and glory.  If you don't know it - you need to.

Ricardo Villalobos - Das Leben Ist So Anders Ohne Dich

Dependent And Happy is such an under-rated album, so full of beauty and wonder that it is easy to overlook certain tracks, which for me, this has been an overlooked beauty - full of delicate charm and a gruff German vocal line that I am happy to never know what it means.

Mr G - It??

A lesser-known yet tough and uncompromising track from Mr G, who rarely fails to provide.

Alex & Digby - Crowhurst

A sombre, gloomy track - almost perfect to play towards the end of a wonderful drug-fuelled holiday in Ibiza.  With enough serotonin depletion, this would make you cry.

Nami - Melinda & Gatto

Too often in dance music, vocals are meaningless bullshit, but this chuggy underground house track is a story about a woman's need for her man, above meaningless consumption.  Heart-warming.

Melodie - Justa

It never fails to amaze me how you can listen to a track once, think it is ok, then listen again and think it is amazing.  Maybe it is because I've recently seen an excellent set by Melodie - this track is a warm, gentle bassline-friendly groover.

iO (Mulen) - Flute

iO (Mulen) are putting out a rash of really good minimal tracks and this is the pick of them for me, it has quite a lot of energy for a minimal track and grooves along very nicely.

Silat Beksi - Rumble

Crunchy electronic minimal.

Master C & J - Don't Let Love Pass You By (D'Julz Edit)

It's a bit gloomy but has an important message within the dark house beats.

Zefzeed - Control Yourself (Cristi Cons Remix)

Super smooth hypnotic wonder - even my 50 year old Scottish desk-neighbour likes it.

Richie Hawtin - No Way Back

I was listening to my playlist and thought, oooh this is a bit good.  And then I saw it was by Richie Hawtin.  Temporarily discombobulated, it is easy to forget with all the bullshit that he encircles himself with, along with the wanky loopy digital 'DJing' that he is actually an excellent producer, and this is a return to form with a brooding, 13-minute long techno beauty.  More please.

Eduardo De La Calle - I Think I Love You

Gentle meandering track like a quiet country stroll.  I really cannot get enough of this - so beautiful.

SIT - Angels

Groovy, hypnotic, wonderful.

AMDX 71 - Virtuality Continuum

It's difficult to know exactly what this is - some kind of dark, brooding warehouse of bass-heavy sound.

Marco Shuttle - Sing Like A Bird

This caught me a little off-guard.  It encompases unusually soaring vocals whilst gradually building into quite a long, gloomy techno track.  It wasn't until the gloominess kicked in around the 5 minute mark that it all made sense - especially with the seagull noises.

Vid Vai - Aloft

Like swimming through a gloomy soup whilst on mushrooms.

Donor - Us For Them (Sleeparchive Remix)

I've always liked Sleeparchive, this has has trademark scratchy kind of noise at times, along with some powerful drums.

Josh Wink - Denial (L.B. Dub Corporation Remix)

I'd just had the most frustratingly thick customer on the line then I heard this track, I just love the rolling bassline that kicks in after the breakdown, it makes so much sense.  A techno track but with a hint of tech-house about it.

Heiko Laux - Dry Me

Gently rising, throbbing being on Klockworks.

Monoloc - TrySome

Dreamy, crackly techno to finish a night with.

Volkan Akin - Voltage (Villalobos AC DC Remix)

Twisted, growling remix from the king - watch out for the mid-way switch.

Cobblestone Jazz - Hired Touch

At first I had no idea this was Cobblestone Jazz - it is after all, another cracking hypnotic Romanian-sounding minimal track.  But it has that haunting edge and musical groove to it that makes it stand out - and it makes sense by the end that of course it is Cobblestone Jazz

Nina Kraviz - I Believe I Can Fly (KLM Delayed Flight Version)

Perfectly encapsulating Nina's sound with this flight through space in trippy techno format.

Theo Parrish - Friendly Children

I've been searching for this track for about two years - a percussive element with a very catchy la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la la la la la over it.  Necessary.

Hiem - She's The One (Circles In Time Mathew Jonson Remix)

A funky little techno track to start featuring a compulsion-driven bass guitar.  And then after 5 minutes that bassline kicks in.  Oh yes.  I say no more.

Andre Bratten - Trommer Og Bass

It sounds like a track I should have known a long time ago, instead I had to read about it in a Mixmag album review, of all places.  All about the bassline - something Tale Of Us would play.  Dark and bassy.

Honeydrop - Inflatable Armchair

This track oozes class.  The title of the track is very representative of the feeling, I am just imagining laying on an inflatable armchair after a long night out.  Musically - think deep and dubby.

Affie Yusuf - Rinse & Dry

A simple, fairly slow beat, but with a very catchy hum-along melody, and plinks of a xylophone.  Effective.

Enzo Siragusa - Desire

A really under-rated track from the east London maestro - went down an absolute storm when I played it recently.

Lil' Louis - Clap Your Hands (DJ Q Re-Groove)

This is a minor re-edit of an absolute stone-wall house classic from the 90's, which makes you feel good and with a slight tribal sound will make you want to dance.

Robert James - Soul One

I've listened to quite a bit of turd today, so this made a refreshing change when the warm, subtle tones inserting themselves into my ears.  It's a nice warm-up track, a casual piece of deep house, with occasional vocal inflexions.

Secret Society - Our Society

Quite simply a funky-ass house track.

Luc Ringeisen - Glance At The Other Side Of The Rejected Mirror

Slightly glitchy minimal track with various odd drums over it, and a variety of nonsense.

Dopplereffekt - Plastiphilia 2

This reminds me of all the extravagances of the electro-clash era, a short electro track about wanting to fuck a mannequin.

Takashi Himeoka - Ludwig

I've been after this for some time, since I was back at a friend's flat and managed to persuade them to swap X Factor for minimal techno seeing as it was 5am and we were out of it.  It is just a hypnotic groove with this enchanting English fellow occasionally saying "Yes that's right, exactly".

Levon Vincent - Fear

This is a typically classy track - kind of hard to pigeon-hole, somewhere between dub techno and tech-house.  It reminds me of a whirling painting of an industrial landscape.

Riccardo - Lapiuta

Such an infectious track, simple rising repeated cleeps - absolutely rammed-packed full of charm.  Julietta recently finished a mix with it, and it was played at Fuse on NYD.  Minimally massive.

Seuil - Al Capote

Gangster minimal.  Live by the gun, die by the gun.  Or live by the ket, die by the ket.  It has a groovy beat to it too.

The Galleria - Calling Card

A cross between disco and old house music, with slightly camp soft-pitched female vocals.  Just on the side of very cool - this could easily have been awful and maybe you think it is too.

Borai - Anybody From London

I heard this on a mix by Pinch.  It has a real rave kind of energy to it, it tells people from London to fuck off and just has this rawness all through it.  Quite possibly influenced by Special Request.

Cristi Cons - Bird In Space

Hypnotic beauty from one of the stars of 2015, with strains of a deep house classic.

Benjamin Damage - Cosmonaut

It’s trance, Jim, but not as we know it.  This breaks down into almost semi-cheese trance territory before bypassing back into a straight-forward techno track.  Solid.

A gorgeous piece of plodding dub techno.

Samu l - Bella Mattina

A quiet plodder, with the huge exception of some hauntingly beautiful piano twists.  Superb.

Frits Wentink - Blaise Montoya

Classy sounding garage track - kind of straddling a deep house/garage divide.  Very, very nice.

Vid - Camelie

Hauntingly beautiful piano-laden minimal track - Vid is going to be a massive star in a very underground way.

Schaa - Masquee

Chuggy minimal that grates along a bass-driven floor.

Galcher Lustwork - I Neva Seen

Slow, luxurious deep house.  It isn't helping my low motivation levels, I just want to lay down with my eyes closed and listen to this repeatedly.

Naeem Johnson & Koffee TheFirstFloetress - Zanzibar Days

This is a bit of a grower, a house track with a woman singing over the top about how good the old days were - yet this track is good enough to replicate the classic house sound.

Groovy.

Mathew Jonson - Marionette (The Beginning)

Did you know that you needed a new version of Marionette in your life?  Neither did I but this is just beauty in smaller and more subtle packaging that the original.

Silat Beksi - It's All About Feeling

It is indeed all about feeling and this oozes hypnotic warmth.

Einzelkind - 808 Rhythm Traxx 3

A really stripped back piece of percussive house - back to basics in more ways than John Major managed.

Ricardo Villalobos - Sieso

Sometimes tracks take a few years to grow on you, and this certainly has with the waspish strings and the impulsive inserts.

Cliff Lothar - Ringleader

Dark, gothic and slow techno like the rumblings from your belly after a heavy weekend and no roast dinner.

Liem - If Only

I don't feature much soulful house but I defy you not to like this.  A simple beat, a lite of charm and a touching vocal.  Give it a chance.

Sucio - Tactile Sense

This has so much simple charm to it, a kind of broken, stucato beat, pulsing along for 15 minutes.

Lumieux - Mirror

Minimal squidginess with scaffolding poles dragged along the pavement briefly sampled.  Probably.

Funk E - Half Past Gr8

A few clicks, a few bleeps, the odd whail and this breadbin-style minimal hypnotism.

L.B. Dub Corp - Roller (Len Faki Interpretation)

There is a real undercurrent of energy here, with rolling bass and the occasional dark synth stab - Mr Faki remains one of my favourite techno producers.

Delgado - Keep Lifting

I really like this.  It's just a simple garage track, it almost reminds me of speed garage with it's repetitive soulful vocals and straight-forward beat.

Atom TM - Riding The Void

I'm becoming a really big fan of Atom TM and their ability to engineer industrial noises, gorgeous basslines and minimal-esque features into a very unique sound.  Beautifully industrial.

Timo Maas & James Teej - Thingzz

Gritty, moody tech-house track for establishing the darkness of winter.

Konrad Black - Sycho Te Alyn

I think there is a lot more depth to this track than comes over on my earphones - it's typically dark of Konrad, with a slightly broken beat pattern, a minimal structure and a lot of bass.

Ada - Faith (Koze's Grungerwomen Instrumental Remix)

Sometimes I can go 10, 20 hours of tune-hunting without finding anything I even vaguely like.  Today I've loved 3 tracks in a row.

This is outstanding - slightly uncomfortable, darkly warm with a variety of clicks, high pitched noises and a deep bassline to meld it together - it does sound like a Grungerwoman.  Whatever that is.

Eman & Doc Link - Not 4 U

House track with a hip-hop attitude to it, and a nice bass-driven beat.  Not on Youtube at the time of writing.

Gri - Archaeos Penn

A pensive piece of hypnotic minimal, almost slightly mournful in its beauty.

Loco Dice - Like In The Movies…Yeah I Want Sum

I've been listening to a few tracks from Loco Dice's new album and this is a real stand out - a gently rising tech-house monster with techno drums and energetic percussion.  I used to think he had perhaps lost it but if he had - then he is right back on form with this album.

Loco Dice - Keep It Low

This is just about a big fat dirty bassline, it also has a bit of a hip-hop influence, amongst requests for people to smoke week and finishes on a mini-rant about forum bitches in a high-pitched vocodered voice.

Alex & Digby - Kudlak

Minimal track with charming calling card and hypnotic Spanish place names repeated over and over, possibly with children's voices.  And a gorgeous 14 minutes long.

I spent about an hour of one set recently trying to remember what it was called as it just kept going around in my head.
